Edith W. Zanni of Bristol passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her home, after a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side. She was 90. Born March 5, 1927 and raised in Bristol Boro, she was also a resident of Levittown before moving back to Bristol in 1970. Edith will be remembered most for her gentleness, patience and kindness towards others and her ability to smile all the time. Edith touched many people’s lives with the many blankets and scarfs that she crocheted and knitted. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Bristol Lioness Club, Eastern Star, Bristol Boro Senior Center where she taught ceramics for many years, Bristol Township Seniors where she helped build a garden which won a contest given by Bucks County Area of Aging. She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Anthony M. Zanni, her parents William Lauer and Lillian Fisher Waters, son-in-law Deacon William Shire, siblings Alice Rittler, Ruth Myers, Richard, Florence, Eugene and Patricia Waters. Edith will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted children Margaret Shire, John and Lillie Zanni of Levittown and Carlotta and William Monach of Yardley. Seven grandchildren, William and Jeanine Shire, Patricia and James Armstrong, William (Jr.), Thomas, Andrew and Summer Monach. Anthony J., John and Angela Zanni and 13 Great Grand Children, Olivia Shire, Robert and Philip Armstrong, Chandler, Reilly, William III, MaryCarlton, Christian, Ayden, Reef and Andi Monach, Tonio and Giovannia Zanni. Edith will also be missed by her devoted sister, Beverly D’Ambrosio, Robert and Terri Waters, George Waters and her sister-in-law Laura Waters and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday morning, May 23, 2017, 8 – 9:30 am at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Service will be at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 11:00 am. Edith’s family wishes to extend deepest gratitude to her caregivers Olga Stoula, Marsol Sanchez, Norma Silver RN, Cheryl Shire, Nurse Practitioner and all those who cared for mom from Immediate Hospice.
