William Knut Johannessen

It is with a sad heart that we must announce the passing of William Knut Johannessen of Delran, NJ on January 14th at the age of 64 years old. He was born August 18, 1952 in the Village of Hibbing, Minnesota. Bill was raised in Bedford Hills, NY and was a graduate of Fox Lane High School in 1970. In high school he was a member of the band, the wrestling team and the ski club and he became a long term member of the National Ski Patrol. BiIl was a proud Vietnam veteran who joined the Marine Corps immediately after graduation and served with honors until 1973. Bill was a traveling soul who always was ready for more from life and he had a real spark for life and for people. Everyone will miss his sense of humor. He enjoyed being a member of the South Jersey Ski Club, getting together with his marina friends and taking the Mustang to car shows. He had a true love of music, skiing, boating, projects, cars and golfing. Bill was preceeded in death by his father Knut, mother Ruth and his eldest brother Jim. He will be greatly missed by Robert, Thomas, Donald, Kerry and Matthew. It has been decided that there will be no services and it is his wish to have his ashes scattered at sea, as his father had, by the U.S. Navy.
