Robert M. Stellar, Sr.

Robert M. Stellar Sr. Robert M. “Bob” Stellar Sr. of Levittown passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was 86. Born in Kulpmont, PA, to Ralph and Immacolata (LaCroce) Stellar, Bob married the love of his life Margaret M. “Peggy” (Rooney) Stellar in 1952. He and his bride moved to the area in 1954 and were one of Levittown’s original homeowners. He was employed for 39 years at U.S. Steel until his retirement in 1992. Throughout the years, Bob enjoyed many activities – overnight gambling trips to Atlantic City, playing cards, bowling each week, and spending late afternoons shooting hoops in the backyard. He was an avid sports fan and loved routing on his favorite teams - Villanova, Penn State, the Eagles, and Phillies. Bob also loved listening to music - any kind of music. He was especially proud of his large record and CD collections. Bob was a member of the armed forces having served in both the Army and the Navy. He will always be remembered as being a kind, gentle, and generous man. He was a loving and supportive spouse and father who always sought to make sure his family and friends were well cared for. Bob will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret M. “Peggy” (Rooney). He is also survived by his daughter, Tina M. Napolitano of Smithville, NJ, and his son, Robert M. Stellar, Jr. of Morrisville, PA and a sister, Teresa Politza of Kulpmont, PA. He was Pop-Pop to his grandchildren, Shannon, Danielle, Ryan and Marisa, and his great-grandchildren, Hailey, Joey, Ryan and Gavin. He is also survived by several brother and sister’s-in law, many nieces and nephews and his best buddy, his beloved border collie, Romeo. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith, Eleanor and John. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016 from 7pm-9pm and Thursday morning, March 31, 2016 from 9:30am-10:30am at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton, Rd., Levittown, PA 19056. Rite of Committal will take place following the Mass at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Ave, Newtown, PA 18940. The family would like to thank the many Doctor’s, Nurse’s and Home Health Care Aides who all provided wonderful care to Bob over the years.
