Robert E. Ekstrom

May 13, 1956 — January 9, 2016

Robert “Bobby” Ekstrom, age 59, born in and former longtime resident of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in his family’s home in Levittown, PA. Bobby lived his life mainly as an umpire for baseball and softball, and a referee for football, basketball and lacrosse. You could always hear him down the street while watching a football game. Bobby always kept our minds going, and even though he botched the English dictionary (lol), he still enjoyed helping his niece everyday with homework and playing games. Bobby was definitely a goofball and will be dearly missed around the house. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Glynn (nee Ashenfelter) and Donald E Ekstrom, his sister Deborah Karen Ekstrom. He is survived by step-father James E Glynn, brother Donald R Ekstrom Sr (Deb), sister/niece Donna M Ekstrom-Deamer (John), brother/nephew Donald R Ekstrom Jr. (Kate), nephews: Sean, Christopher and Jonny, nieces: Caitlin and Harlei and great nephew Jayce. Due to Bobby’s wishes there will be no services but asks that you still keep his memory alive by donating to MAA Little League Association, 2897 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 or to the college fund of Harlei Deamer 110 Upper Orchard Drive, Levittown, PA 19056 - as he helped in every way he could with her education. His life was all about family and sports. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Robert E. Ekstrom, please visit our flower store.
