Mary Elizabeth Klein

Mary E. Klein, wife of the late John T. Klein, passed away on October 12, 2015 at the age of 89. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, she was the last surviving child of Frederick Leopold and Ella Hanna Ingold. Mary E. Klein, wife of the late John T. Klein, passed away on October 12, 2015 at the age of 89. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, she was the last surviving child of Frederick Leopold and Ella Hanna Ingold. Her siblings include her brothers Elmer, James, Frederick, and Melvin and sisters Elmira and Helen. After the early death of her mother, Mary, known to her family as Bibby, was raised along with her brother Melvin by Harry and Emma Ford. She graduated from Altoona High School, and, after working several jobs in Altoona, she received an RN degree from Saint Luke and Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Mary worked as a nurse at the Philadelphia State Hospital and at Planned Parenthood in Bristol Township. A resident of Levittown since 1955, she received the Four Chaplains honor membership for community service in 1981, and was an avid gardener and cook. She is survived by her son Michael of Richmond, Virginia. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 24th from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown. Mass will be held at 10:30 am. Interment will begin at 11:30 at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation is suggested.
