Elisa R Chimera

June 26, 1927 — September 27, 2015

Elisa Chimera, born Elisa Ciabattoni on June 26th, 1927, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Her father, Valeriano Ciabattoni, was born in the Le Marche region of Italy. He immigrated to the USA, where he met and married her mother, Carmela Delise. After Valeriano's untimely death, Elisa was raised by her mother, stepfather and her maternal grandparents. She had very fond memories of her childhood in Bristol. She married Charles Chimera of Trenton, New Jersey, and they moved to Levittown where they raised four children - Frank, Lisa, Valerie and Chip. Elisa was a loving wife and mother, and she was selfless with her time and energy for her family and friends. In Levittown, she had many friends. The family dinner table was her favorite gathering place. She enjoyed keeping it filled with guests and happy conversation. A nurturing woman who placed the needs of others before her own, many refer to Elisa as their second mother, which is a role she embraced to the very end. Her final years were very happy ones, spent with her son Chip and his wife Monica and their three young children. She absolutely cherished her time with her grandchildren. The moments spent with them gave her ultimate and eternal happiness. Her last grandchild was born on her 88th birthday, and she felt incredibly fortunate to love and hold a newborn baby. Her very last moments were spent holding the baby in her arms and rocking him to sleep before going to bed. Our children love their Nana dearly. There will be a great big void in our home without her. Nana, we love and miss you. You were the best Mom and Nana in the world and we aren't sure how we will manage without you. We will teach the kids to look for your star in the sky and we will see you in our dreams. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 – 11:00 am Saturday, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007. Funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton, NJ. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Elisa R Chimera, please visit our flower store.
