Joseph William Szokoli Jr., age 69, of Levittown, passed away peacefully on Thurs., June 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a graduate of North Catholic High School. Joe entered the Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action. Later, he worked for Cartex Corp. in Doylestown. He was a photographer and past President of Levittown Fire Company #2, an EMT with Levittown Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, a well-known and respected EMT instructor for Bucks County, and a long-time Eucharistic minister of St. Michael the Archangel Church where he also volunteered at their annual fair. Joe was a proud member of the NRA and an avid gun collector. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Florence Szokoli. He will be greatly missed by his wife, and best friend of 36 years, Mary Ann (nee: Foisy); his beloved daughter Luciann Szokoli; his sister Florence Viola and her husband Lou; his brothers-in-law Mike and Michele, and John; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companions Buddy and Zeus. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wed., 9am at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Levittown. Funeral Mass will begin at 10am. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Yardley. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Pkwy., Levittown, PA 19054.
