Mary Rose Manzo

October 28, 1921 — February 11, 2015

Mary Rose Manzo, age 93, of Levittown, PA, passed away on Wed., February 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Bristol Borough, she resided in Levittown the past 30 years. She was a life-long parishioner of St. Ann Church and she loved the Lord. Mary Rose was the first female supervisor at the former Kaiser Metal Corporation during WWII and later owned and operated “Mary & Tony’s” clothing store on Washington Street in Bristol Borough. She went on to work as a Group Manager for Bee-Line Fashions and especially enjoyed her time as bartender at Alvino’s Restaurant. She liked bowling and cooking . . . was dedicated to her family and enjoyed doing anything for them. Her specialty was baking biscotti which she generously shared with family and friends; she also helped her son Mark with his business. Mary Rose loved her family and was predeceased by her brothers Tony, Peter, Larry, and James Monte; and her sister Sue Plebani. She will be greatly missed by her children Cosimo Manzo and his wife Cheryl, Alexander Manzo, Mark Manzo and his wife Donna, and Tony Manzo. She had 6 loving grandchildren, Jonathan, Adrienne, Stacey, Mark Jr., Alex “Buzzard”, and Aubrey Manzo; 4 great grandchildren, Brynn, Everett, Wesley, and Lauren whom she adored; as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, 9am, at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA. Funeral Mass will begin at 10am. Interment will follow in Bristol Cemetery. The family requests contributions in her name be made to the Catholic Charities, 100 North 20th Street, Phila., PA 19103.
