Joseph Popovic

Joseph P. Popovic, age 84, of Morrisville, PA, passed away on January 25, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Joseph was born in Ambler, PA, and raised in Philadelphia. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War from 1948-1952 aboard the USS Midway CVA-41. He was employed as an Operating Engineer for Warner Co. and was a long-time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Joseph enjoyed reading about history, playing cards and checkers, traveling, and collecting coins. He was the son of the late Peter and Anna (nee: Kelly) Popovic; husband of the late Frances Mabel (nee: Branch) Popovic to whom he was married to for over 40 years; and brother of the late May, Helen, Katherine, and Anna. He is survived by his sister Rose Kurtas; and many nieces and nephews, including Katherine, Peter, Anita, Charlotte, Ruth, and Alan. He is also survived by his step-children Charles (Bonnie), Loretta, Carol Ann, and Thomas. Family and friends may attend his funeral on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 9:30-10:30am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Private burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Newtown.
