Avis Jacobs

Avis “Mary” Jacobs of Levittown, PA, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Silver Lake Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old. While she spent most of her years employed at an answering service, in her later years she enjoyed her job at Giant Food Stores where she was considered “bagger extraordinaire.” Her favorite past times were vacationing with her family in the Outer Banks and Sunday “hen days.” She was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold and Hattie, as well as her mother Doris. Left to cherish her memory are her 11 children: Huie, Mary, Nancy, Margaret, Barry, Evelyn, Dorothy, Jeffrey, Teresa, Steven, and Barbara. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Service and interment will be held privately at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Bucks County Association for the Blind, 400 Freedom Drive, Newtown, PA 18940.
