Monica Petrecca

Monica Louis Petrecca (nee: Otto) passed away on January 7, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 88 years old. Monica was born in Weissport, PA, and was raised in Jim Thorpe, PA, and Elizabeth, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Hilda (nee: Lennon) Otto. Monica was the beloved wife of the late Daniel S. Petrecca. She resided in Trenton, NJ, Morrisville, PA, and Jim Thorpe, PA. Monica was the wonderful mother to Daniel S. Petrecca Jr. and his wife Joy. She was the loving grandmother to Joy Petrecca Rizzo (husband Don) and Daniel S. Petrecca III. Also, she was the delighted great grandmother to Gina Marie Rizzo. She is also survived by her special sister-in-law Libby Carver, as well as Judy Petrecca (late Emil Petrecca); her sister Janice Gargus (Mel); and several nieces and nephews. Monica was elegant and full of grace. She was a gentle, sweet, caring, loving person to her family and friends. Monica enjoyed spending time with her family; especially traveling to 49 states, boating, snowmobiling, and hunting. She was a bookkeeper and an award-winning artist with showings at Woodmere and New Hope Galleries. Most of her later years she spent volunteering with the ambulance service and Senior Citizens Food Bank of Penn Forest Streams. She was very active in her Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Monica will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family are invited to attend her viewing at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057 on Monday from 7pm-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, 10am, at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067. Burial will be at 1pm on Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Jim Thorpe, PA.
