Samuel Lucherine

September 2, 1921 — December 16, 2014

Samuel S. Lucherine, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2014 at Chandler Hall in Newtown surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Central City, PA, and raised in Trenton, NJ, before moving to Tullytown in 1949 when he married Rose DiCicco (lifelong resident of Tullytown who passed away in 2010). Samuel was a WWII Navy Veteran who served aboard a sea plane tender as a Boilermaker 1st class in the Pacific Theatre. He was the owner of Capitol Wholesale Florist in Trenton for over 50 years and enjoyed bowling and working in his vegetable and flower garden. He was an 18 year member of the Tullytown Fire Company where he served as past President for 7 years. He was also the Honorary Grand Marshall of Tullytown’s 2008 Memorial Day Parade, and was a member of the Tullytown Borough Zoning Hearing Board, and the Tullytown American Legion Color Guard Carmen Bachhofer Post 961; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Samuel is also preceded in death by his brothers Patrick, Joseph, and Eugene. He will be greatly missed by his loving children Linda Lucherine, and Nancy Lucherine Conner and her husband John; and his grandchildren Matthew Conner (Nikiya Donatelli), and Jenna Conner Goodnow and her husband Charles. Samuel will also be greatly missed by his siblings Lucy Laurita, Richard Lucherini and his wife Theresa, Vincent Lucherini (Cookie DeAngelo), Virginia Rourke (Rick Skeels); and many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sat. from 9-10:15am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street in Bristol, PA. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am.
