William Riddle Jr.

December 27, 1955 — December 15, 2014

William C. Riddle Jr., age 58, of Levittown, PA, passed away on December 15, 2014 at his residence. He was a 1974 graduate of Pennsbury High School and Lower Bucks Technical School, and a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Church; where he was a tenor in their choir. William had many nicknames: Chuck Redder, Curly, Wild Bill (then later became Mild Bill), Tick (lunatic), Uncle Booger, Riddle, and Sir. He worked at King’s Department Store, Craft Showcase, and was a faithful employee for 35 years at Yardley Precision Products where he was a machinist. Wild Bill had an affinity for fishing – from the Florida Keys to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, from the local ponds to the depths of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Bill could usually be found at his cabin at the Penn Warner Club in Tullytown, but had many ports of call through the USA. He was founder of North Park Fishing Club, and was a member of Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, North American Fish Club, Penn Warner Club, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Alaska Sportsman Society, and the Sons of the American Legion Post 834 in Fallsington. He also enjoyed NASCAR, the Flyers, the Eagles, summers in Alaska, and winters in Jupiter, FL. He often said he would most like to meet Mark Twain, William Penn, Papa Hemingway, Benjamin Franklin, Picasso, and Hitler. Bill was known for his humor and generosity. His favorite song was “Waltzing Matilda.” Love him or hate him, everybody knew him! He was predeceased by his father William C. Riddle; his brother Thomas P. Riddle; and his brother-in-law Robert Mather. He will be greatly missed by his mother Claire M. Gerrity Riddle; his sister Margaret F. Riddle (David Mellors); brother John F. Riddle and his wife Margaret Brennan Riddle and their sons John and Gabriel; sister-in-law Sharon Moran Riddle and her sons Nicholas and Zachary; his aunt Estelle Flynn and her husband Francis; and many cousins and good friends, especially "The Twins." Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sat. from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford valley Road. Interment will follow in Bristol Cemetery. Before he passed, Wild Bill requested memorial contributions be made to the Victory Junction Camp at VICTORYJUNCTION.ORG. Mailing address: 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
