Dennis Heston

December 13, 1947 — July 13, 2014

Dennis M. Heston of West Bristol, PA, went home to be with his Lord peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2014 with his family by his side. Dennis was born in 1947 to the late Elmer & Virginia (Scioli) Heston. He attended Delhaas High School and proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a Spc 4 in the 407th Transportation Unit. He served in Viet Nam at Camron Bay and was in the convoy that resupplied the base at Danag. Dennis worked at Heinz/Kelsey Hayes until they closed and retired from BJ’s Warehouse. He was heavily involved with the Chester W. Terchon VFW Post #5542. He was President of the Home Association & Bar Manager for 20+ years. Dennis was a wonderful story and joke teller; you never left him without a smile on your face. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, all night Pinochle, crab fests, and any functions that involved family and friends. He was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports; especially the Phillies & Eagles. He loved Theresa’s pineapple upside down cake. Dennis was a loyal family man and friend, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He enriched the lives of everyone he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved Aunt Carmella; father-in-law James A. Nolan; and his nephew/God-son David Puccio. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cathy (Nolan) Heston; his daughters Denise (Eric), Julie, Eden (Tom), and Dana (Justin); his grandchildren David, Alyse, Hanah, and Colin; his brothers Elmer ( Patricia) and Robert (Elizabeth); his sisters Joan (Charles) Rudy, and Rosemary Puccio; mother-in-law Katherine (Flynn) Nolan; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Battaglia and Grace Barr; brothers-in-law James A. Nolan Jr., John M. Nolan, and Steven J. Nolan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, July 21, at the Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057, from 11:30am-12:30. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing Cemetery. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Dennis Heston, please visit our flower store.
