Grace Mary Gilbert, age 86, of Croydon, PA, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on May 3, 2014, at Aria Torresdale Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and their 8 children. Grace was born on November 29, 1927, in Bristol, PA; the daughter of the late Anthony Angellilli and Grace (nee: Malena) Angellilli. She was preceded in death by her siblings Carmen Angellilli and his wife Catherine, Marie Vitola and her husband Samuel, and Anthony Angellilli; her sister-in-law Marilyn Angellilli; and brother-in-law John Reither. Grace is survived by her husband John Paul Gilbert; and her children John, George, Joseph, Maryann, Grace, Regina, Kathleen, and Theresa; her daughter-in-law Karen Gilbert; sons-in-law John Fabiny, David Finan, Mark Briganti, and Donald Scott; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Margaret Monti, Ralph Angellilli, and Veronica Ragan; and sisters-in-law Roberta Angellilli, Regina Kurtz and her husband James, and Elsie Reither. Born in Bristol, Grace was a life-long resident of Bucks County. She attended St. Ann Catholic School and worked at Kaiser Fleetwing and Landreth Seed in Bristol Borough, PA. In 1950, Grace married the love of her life John Paul Gilbert. They built their life and new home together in Croydon, spending 64 years in marriage nurturing their growing family and love for each other. She thoroughly enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends, gardening, painting, vacationing at the beach, and long country rides with her husband. In addition to raising their 8 children, she also had tremendous love for all people. Grace volunteered her time and talents at various local schools as a staff assistant. She never knew a stranger and welcomed everyone into her life with open arms. Grace was a long-time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church; always keeping Christ at the center of her life. She will be missed tremendously and will always be cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and Christian friend. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the tremendous care and compassion to the staff at St. Mary Medical Center, River’s Edge Rehab. Center, and Aria Torresdale Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her celebration of life at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, on Friday, May 9, from 6pm-8pm, and Sat., May 10, from 8am-9am. Funeral Mass will begin 10am on Sat., May 10, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA. Memorial contributions in Grace’s name may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021.
