Margaret Yackimowicz

February 13, 1932 — March 15, 2014

Margaret Yackimowicz (nee: Bellomo), passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Ashley, PA, to Joseph and Rose Bellomo, she was the youngest of 8 siblings; she never wanted for love and attention. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Leonard, and the two began to build a family of their own in West Bristol. Family was always the most important thing to Peggy, and as the years passed she transitioned from dedicated wife and mother, to doting grandmamma and nonna. She was devoted to all of her grandchildren and proudly watched their participation in all activities and performances in which they were involved. Peggy was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and extremely devoted to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing cards; especially pokeno and poker. She also loved her trips to Las Vegas with her friends Joan and Dee. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years; her parents; and her siblings Michael, Florence, Toni, Lucy, and Carmella; and her close friend and cousin Jane Heck. She is survived by her children Lenny (Lisa), Jamie, Maggie Jensen (Joe), and MaryEllen Nalewak (Jeremy); her grandchildren Lindsay (Pete), Erin Lee (Kurt), Amanda Rose (Simon), Becca Lynn (Mason), Isabella Lucia, and Giancarlo Leonard; her great grandchildren Brendan, Cameron Jade, and Daniel Chase; siblings Marie Snyder and Orlando (Pidgey) Bellomo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thurs., 7pm-9pm, and Friday, 8:30-9:15am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10am, St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Croydon. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
