Robert Morris Sr.

Robert Morris Sr., age 83, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2014. He had been under the supervision of Gentiva Hospice Care at the home of his oldest daughter, Cheryl Murkey, with additional care provided by his loving granddaughters, Jasmine Morris and Danielle Ivery. Born in Abington, PA on 7/30/30, he was the son of Bertell Morris Sr. and Lillian Morris. On September 4, 1954, he was joined in marriage to Carolyn Hopkins of Titusville, New Jersey. Their union produced six children. He attended the Newtown Public School District system. Eventually, he enrolled in the United States Army and was deployed to Korea. He was a member of the artillery unit and after serving his time was discharged with honors. He then got married, was employed with Rohm & Haas Chemical Company of Bristol, PA, for close to 40 years and eventually retired in 1995. Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn, parents Bertell Sr. & Lillian Morris, sisters, Doris McCoy-Morris, Thelma Morris, Ethel Morris, brothers, Bertell Morris Jr. and Cecil Morris. He is survived by one brother, Russell Morris. His children, Cheryl Murkey, Bristol, Pa, Robert Morris, Jr. Clinton, Maryland, Michelle Morris, Trenton, NJ, Brian Morris (Eileen) Levittown, PA Marcia Morris and Maurice Morris, Sr. of Bristol, PA He also has 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Arrangements are under the guidance of Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA. Service to be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Viewing will be from 11:30 to 12:30 immediately to be followed by the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
