Joseph G. Parto, age 81, of Morrisville, PA, passed away on Feb. 6, 2014. Born in Philadelphia to Gregory and Jenny Parto, he grew up on Kings Farm, and always joked about graduating from “Kings Farm University”. He moved to Levittown in the 50’s and was an original Levittown homeowner until moving to Morrisville 14 years ago. “Backhoe Joe” was the owner of J.G. Parto & Son Excavating, then partnered with his son to form J&G Parto Inc. Pop enjoyed a good meal and a nice glass of wine. He liked traveling and going to the casinos; but more than anything he loved his family. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 54 years Pauline Parto (nee: Caldararo); and his sister Jeannette Parto. He will be greatly missed by his children Gregory Parto and his wife Laura (nee: Buiocchi) of Levittown, and their children Gregory, Christopher, and Jason Parto. Donna Abrescia and David Ahrens of Levittown, and Paulette Boyskey of Blakeslee, PA, and her son Michael Smith. He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Parto Buck; and 2 sisters-in-law Florence Caldararo and Dena Ferraro. He was blessed with many relatives and friends. All are invited to call on Friday (Feb. 14) 6pm-9pm and Saturday (Feb. 15) 9am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Funeral service will begin at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.
