Margaret "Ann" Ahrens

After a long battle with cancer, Ann quietly passed on Feb. 1, 2014. She was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Cincinnati, OH, the eldest daughter of Cliff and Marie Wheeler, and has been a Bucks County resident since 1969. Ann was a lover of family, friends, fun, and her classroom. She adored her children and was dedicated to her students. Life highlights included being chosen to sing in the Allegheny Singer acapela choir, graduating from Allegheny College in 1956, her Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority sisters, living in Nassau, Bahamas, her lifelong love of the American Youth Foundation and it's traditions, being a First Grade teacher at Quarry Hill and Manor Elementary in the Pennsbury School for 25 years, playing her Ukulele and the piano, any and every beach, family reunions at the Bottorf Cottage on Canandaigua Lake, and her friendships far & wide. She is survived by 4 children, Leslie A. Ellis of Latham, NY, Scott (& Pat) Ahrens of Eugene, OR, Douglas Ahrens of Daytona Beach, FL, and Stephen (& Nancy) Ahrens of Richmond, VA; and her 7 beloved grandchildren who knew and loved her as Gran Am, Justin (& Cassie), Stephen, Nick, Elizabeth, Kelli, Benjamin, and Daniel. She is also survived by her sister Sally (Sarah Bottorf of Victor, NY), nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Ann is predeceased by her parents Cliff & Marie Wheeler, and her sister Susan Wheeler. A special thank-you to Ann's caregiver staff & extended medical providers for their loving kindness in caring for our "Mom" with dignity and love. Interment and services are private.
