Fredesuinda DelVecchio

Fredesvinda “Freding” Peralta DelVecchio M.D., age 88, of Croydon, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in the Philippines, she has been of this area for almost 60 years. Freding received her Medical Degree from University of St. Thomas Manila in the Philippines, and her Masters Degree from Columbia University in New York. She was a house physician and surgical assistant at Riddle Memorial Hospital, in Delaware County, and at St. Mary Hospital and Lower Bucks Hospital, in Bucks County, for a period of 35 years. She was former President and recipient of the Award of Excellence from the Philippine Medical Society of Greater Philadelphia. She was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Santo Tomas Medical Alumni Association in America for 55 years of service. Freding was a gentle woman who used her strength and character to be a pioneer in her field and to be a loving, caring, and beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her husband Charles; and her children Marian and her husband Joseph, and David and his partner Anthony. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kenneth, Christopher, and Gabrielle; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sat., 8-9:30am, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am at St. Ann Church.
