Emma Straccio

November 30, 1930 — July 21, 2013

Emma Straccio (Zanni), age 82, passed away on July 21, 2013, at home with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Bristol Boro, she attended Bristol High School – Class of 1948. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur of 57 years; her son Arthur Jr.; parents Mary and John Zanni; sister Levia; and brother Ezio. Together, with her husband, they owned Straccio’s Restaurant & Catering Service in Levittown from 1964 to 1987. In 1987, Emma became Manager of the Lower Bucks Senior Center until 2007. Emma and her husband Arthur were instrumental in the renovation of the new kitchen and the 3rd floor. As a result of all her hard work and dedication with the center, she was awarded the “Women of the Year Award” by the Bristol Lion’s Club in June 2005. Arthur was also a recipient of the “Man of the Year Award” by the Bristol Lion’s Club in June 1961 for his community service with the Robert W. Bracken Post Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps. Emma will be remembered as a kind women of compassion and dedication to her family and friends. She is survived by her loving son John and his wife Margaret; granddaughters Nichole, Amanda, and Samantha; great grandsons Rylan and Ryder; and great granddaughter Emma-Leigh (the love of her life). She is also survived by her brother Anthony and his wife Edith; sister Isabella; and many thoughtful and most respected nieces, nephews, and cousins. Emma is a parishioner of St. Ann Church, member of the Women of the Moose, and American Legion Auxiliary. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday, 6pm-9pm, and Friday, 8am-9:15am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Ann Church at 10am on Friday. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. Donations in Emma’s memory may be made to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA 19007.
