Joseph Maiorino

Joseph J. “J.J.” Maiorino passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at age 90. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a life-long area resident. A graduate of Trenton High Class of 1940, he went on to Rutgers University and Fordham Law School where he was awarded his Jurist Doctorate in 1952. He proudly served his country during World War II in the 14th evacuation hospital in China, Burma, and India. He had a distinguished legal career culminating in his appointment as Workmen’s Compensation Judge for the State of New Jersey, Somerset County District. J.J. was a member of the American Legion, Order of the Son’s of Italy, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, and the Mercedes Benz Club. He served as Grand Marshall of the annual Columbus Day parade in Trenton, and was an avid car enthusiast and serious Yankees fan. He loved traveling to his beloved Italy, London, Switzerland, and Bermuda. He was predeceased by his parents Ferdinando and Guilia Moretti Maiorino; and his brother Richard. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, of 60 years, Anne Martini Maiorino; his devoted daughter Lisa and her husband Donald; and his most cherished grandson Donnie III. He is also survived by a brother Fred; sisters-in-law Kathy and Patricia; brother-in-law Joseph Martini and his wife Sonia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wed., 6pm-8pm, at Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, NJ. Funeral will begin Wed., 9:30am, in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 11am, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hamilton Twp. Interment will follow in Harbourton Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ.
