Mary Hanak

September 19, 1925 — May 16, 2013

Mary L. Hanak, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Norristown, after her retirement she lived in Millsboro, Delaware; and more recently has resided in Levittown. She was a retiree of the State of PA where she worked at the Norristown State Hospital in the laundry department. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Life Center and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW located in Millsboro, Delaware. She was a loving a caring mother and grandmother who lived for her family and their happiness. She was very proud of her Italian Heritage and was an incredible cook. She enjoyed shopping for others and crocheting blankets for everyone. She was a selfless person who always gave all she had to others; but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Joseph C. Hanak “Gorilla Joe”, and the love of her life Joseph Hanak of whom she was married to for over 46 years. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Betty Hanak. She is the proud grandmother of Joe and Alison Reinhart, Joe and Dawn Hanak, Tim and Tammy Hanak, Chris and Toni Levins, and Danielle Hanak; and great grandmother of Casey and Paige Hanak, Isabella Levins and Gracie Reinhart. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins who reside in Norristown. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday, 6pm-9pm, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown.
