Ruth E. Visnesky “Betty” passed away on May 7, 2013 at St. Mary Hospital. She was 82. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she lived in California and Arizona; and has resided in Levittown for the past 30 years. She was a retiree of Nabisco where she worked as a machine operator. She was also involved with the Bakery & Confectionary Union in Philadelphia. Betty was a very feisty and energetic lady who was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, and a good friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Sarah Carson; her sisters Sarah Dupree and Jean Frye; her grandson Michael Duncan; and her husband Stanley Visnesky. She will be greatly missed by her children Linda Bell, Donna Vansant, Cindy Ross and her husband Dale, Debbie Vanderploeg and her husband Ralph, and Robert Vansant. She is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother Robert Carson Jr. and a sister Jacqueline Benz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Sat., 12 noon, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road. Religious services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the University of Pennsylvania, Bone Marrow Transplant Research Fund c/o Dr. Vogl, 3400 Civic Center Blvd., Phila., PA 19104.
