Beatrice Messinella

Beatrice “Bea” Messinella of Bristol, PA, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2013. She was 92. Born and raised in Bristol, she was employed as a Beautician at the former Pomeroy’s Department Store in Levittown until her retirement. Bea was a faithful and devoted parishioner of St. Ann Parish. She was an active volunteer at St. Ann School; helping the Sisters with various morning student activities. She also volunteered at St. Ann Church with all of their fund-raising activities and internal organizational tasks, and was a member of the former Miraculous Medal Sodality. Bea was preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Lucy Messinella; her brothers John, and Vincent (Veronica); and sisters Theresa (John), Mary (Frank), Angelina (James), Josephine (Peter), and Rose (Joe). She will be greatly missed by her loving and caring nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law Clara Messanella. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Heartland Hospice; her nurses Nancy Dungan, Trish Peterson, and Donna Ward; and family members Joseph Hoffman and Christina, who lived with Bea. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, 8:30am-10:00am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street in Bristol. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am at St. Ann Church. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA 19007, in memory of Bea.
