Joan Keenan

Joan T. Keenan “Chuckles”, of Bensalem, passed away on Tues., March 26, 2013, at Manor Care in Yardley. She was 79. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she has been a resident of Bensalem for 58 years. She was recently retired from Neshaminy Medical Associates in Bensalem where she was employed for over 35 years. She was an active member of “Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley.” Joan was a fun-loving and outgoing person who was happiest when she was spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Maureen Keenan/McCool; and will be greatly missed by her previous husband, and good friend, John “Chief” Keenan; her children, Patty Dunleavy and husband Peter of Newtown, Kathy Turek and husband Henry of Lake Mary, FL, Michael Keenan and wife Dawn of Levittown, John Keenan and wife Cathy of Fairless Hills, and Colleen McFadden and husband Patrick of Huntingdon Valley. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister Barbara Moeser and husband Al; a brother Joseph Heard and wife Marie; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, 6pm-8pm, and Tuesday, 9:30-11am, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown where funeral services will begin 10:30am in the funeral home. Interment will be conducted privately.
