Jennie Rago passed away Wed., March 6, 2013 at the age of 90. Born in Bristol on August 9, 1922, she was the daughter of Antonio and Nina Paolini. The oldest of 5 children, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Chet and Santo. Jennie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She lived most of her life in Bristol Borough until moving to Levittown 7 years ago. In her younger years, she worked at the “slip factory” and later at Betty Lou Children’s Shop on Mill Street. She resided with Laura, and was cared for by her 3 daughters and dear companion Anna. Jennie looked forward to spending time with family in her home, and most enjoyed gatherings for Sunday dinners and holidays. Jennie was a proud homemaker for many years and often delighted in the company of her only great grandson Chad II. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church, and a member of the Miraculous Medal Society, and Sons of Italy. Jennie was the wife of the late Albin Rago who died in 1975. She is survived by 2 brothers John and Carlo Paolini; 3 daughters Laura Palmer, Rita Grenseman (Ken), and Jeanette Bergstrom (Lou); her grandchildren Jeff Palmer (Paola) and Chad Palmer and his wife Jennifer; and great grandchild Chad Palmer II. Jennie will also be sadly missed by family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Sat., 8-10am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol. Funeral Mass will follow, 10:30am, at St. Ann Church. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007.
