Veronica Forrest

December 5, 1926 — February 17, 2013

Veronica “Ronnie” E. Forrest (nee: Tomashunas), passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2013, at Rivers Edge Nursing Facility. She was 86. Born and raised in Shickshinny, PA, she has been a resident of Croydon for the past 60 years. She worked many years as a waitress at the former Hordon-Hardts Cafeteria located in Phila. She enjoyed taking care of abandoned animals, flee marketing, gardening, and working on broken jewelry; but her main love was St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She was preceded by her parents Dominic and Sally Tomashunas; her brother Anthony; her husbands Frank Baumiester and Thomas Forrest; and her step-sons Thomas Forrest Jr. and Michael Forrest. She will be missed by James Forrest and his wife Alice, John Forrest and his wife Patricia, Bryan Forrest and his wife Doris, and Susan Poserina and her husband Steve. She is also survived by grandchildren; a sister-in-law Betty Tomashunas; a sister Ann Friedemann; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday, 9:30am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am. Interment is private. The family requests memorial donations in her memory be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021.
