Louisa Louman

December 17, 1927 — February 15, 2013

Louisa Theresia Louman-deLeeuw, age 85, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at her home in Chalfont, PA. A citizen of the Netherlands, she was born in Indonesia and returned to the Netherlands at the age of 19 where she met her husband Paul. After their marriage, they moved to the United States and settled in Levittown, PA, where they raised 5 daughters. Louise was an incredible woman. At the age of 14 she, along with her mother, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers, were held in a prisoner of war camp in Indonesia at which time she lost her 2 youngest brothers as well as her father. After the war, she worked for the Netherlands government. In Levittown, she was employed at Calkins Media until she retired last year. Louisa loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, and especially enjoyed her cruises and trips to the casinos. She will be greatly missed by her husband of over 50 years, Paul Louman; her children Christina Coker and husband Ed of Knoxville, TN, Lucienne Drennen and husband Mark of Apopka, FL, Maja Hampson and husband James of Chalfont with whom she resided, Miranda Louman of Levittown, and Linda Caruso and husband Barry of Langhorne. She will also be missed by her 9 adoring grandchildren Jennifer Nelson with husband Christopher, Anneke Moody with husband Aaron, Asher, Sarah Mia, Brianna, Nicholas, Ashley, and Brandon and Nina; 3 great grandchildren Johnathan, Juliana and Isaac; 1 sister Vivianne deLeeuw of Levittown; her brothers Paul deLeeuw and wife Beth of Levittown, and Harry deLeeuw and wife Brigitte of the Netherlands; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wed., 8-9:45am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Funeral Mass will begin 10:30am at St. Mark Church in Bristol Borough. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
