David Kane

David Kane, of Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Chandler Hall in Levittown. He was 74. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he resided in Philadelphia for several years before moving to the newly constructed Levittown in 1953. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Dave joined the Bristol Township Police Department in 1965, and retired 25 years later. He loved hunting in the Pocono’s, fishing in Canada, NASCAR, and the Phillies. He also enjoyed camping at Lake Wallenpaupack with his wife. He was predeceased by his parents David and Charlotte (nee: Knops) Kane. He will be greatly missed by his wife Sandra Later Kane (nee: Hammond); his step-children Cindi Hearn and her husband Alex of Bristol Boro, Kathy Horvath and her husband Russell of San Antonio, TX, John Later and his wife Stephanie, and Joe Later and his wife Michele all of Levittown; his adoring grandchildren Alex, Patrick, Kaelin, Brianna, Zack (Laken), Tanner, Meghan, Emily, Kelly, and John; and great granddaughter Austyn. He is also survived by his brother Leonard Kane and his wife Barbara of Myrtle Beach; his sister Barbara Alimenti and her husband Ron of Delaware; his Aunt Joan and her husband Bob Ball of Kingston, PA; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends Russ and Pat Saxman. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, 7pm-9pm, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown. Interment will follow privately at Washington Crossing National Vet Cemetery.
