Frank G. Coon Sr. “Hank”, age 90 of Morrisville, PA, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012, at St. Mary Hospital in Langhorne. Born and raised in Girardville, PA, he was a resident of Bristol Township for many years before moving to Morrisville 40 years ago. Hank was a Foreman for the former Ken Ray Sign Co. in Bristol Borough and Langhorne until his retirement 28 years ago. In his youth, Hank was employed at the Hammond Mine in Girardville where he also served in the Emergency Mine Rescue Team. Later, Hank joined the U.S. Army and served with the 101st Airborne in the European Theatre where he made six combat jumps and was involved in many actions; including D-day, Rhine River, and the Battle of the Bulge. Hank was an easy going, straight talking man with upstate values. He enjoyed watching all of the Philadelphia sports teams, deep sea fishing, all types of puzzles, and gardening; but his true love was always his family. He was preceded in death by his brother John and sister Mildred Barsel. He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 70 years, Anna (nee: DeLuca); 2 sons Frank Coon and his wife Gianina of Buckingham, PA, and Clarence “Yookie” and his wife Dorothy “Dot” of Fairless Hills; his grandchildren Jennifer Varco and her husband Scott of Pipersville, PA, the late Frankie Coon, Louis Coon of Philadelphia, Clarence “Buddy” Coon and his wife Jennifer of Levittown, and Christine and her husband Warrant Officer U.S.M.C. Troy Buchanan of Havelock, Cherry Point, NC; and his great grandchildren Kyra, Ashley, Nicholas, Anthony, William, Cassidy, Zachary, and Frank. He is also survived by his brother Jim Coon of Cherry Hill, NJ; and sister Jeanette Heckman of Lancaster, PA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, 9:30am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA, where funeral services will begin at 11:30am. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Newtown, PA. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Frank C.
