Eugene Neumann

d. November 5, 2012

Eugene John Neumann, age 80, of Levittown, PA, passed away on November 5, 2012, at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Freemont, Michigan, he was a resident of Levittown since 1955. Mr. Neumann was a retiree of the Bristol Township School District where he drove a school bus for 40 years. Later, in keeping with his love of children, he continued working as a school crossing guard. “Gene” was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the U.S. Occupation Force in Japan, as well as the Korean War. He was the original founder and former officer for the TWU Local 282 Union in Bristol Township, and also served on the safety committee of Bristol Township for several years. “Gene” was an avid reader and also played chess; but most of all he loved attending any events involving his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Eric Neumann. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Betty J. Lapina; his children Hannah Weiss and her husband Harry Lawrence, and Sherri Champey and her husband Joe. He is the proud Pop Pop of Ariel, Alicia, and Hannock Weiss, Heather Neumann, Amber Rose, Sammie Jo, Joey and his wife Jennifer, and Melissa Champey; and great grandfather of 7. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his religious services Nov. 16, 2pm, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA, followed by military honors and burial. Arrangements by Galzerano Funeral Homes of Bucks County. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Eugene Neumann, please visit our flower store.
