Edward F. Young, age 84, passed away on October 20, 2012, at his residence with his family by his side. Ed was born and raised in Glendale, CA. At this time he began his career in the U.S. Army. He rose through the enlisted ranks and retired at the rank E-7. After his separation, he settled in the Levittown area and was employed at Rulon & Cook Elevator Company of Trevose where he had the distinction of refurbishing of the Statue of Liberty. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his leisure time gardening, and was an avid college football fan and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was an awesome father, grandfather, great grandpop, and good friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Post. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Laura Young; a brother Thomas, a sister Geraldine Montgomery, and recently his beloved wife Aylwyn (Allison) of 57 years. He will be greatly missed by 6 daughters Donna Myhre, Elizabeth Marion and her husband Bruce Horen, Diane Mitchell and her husband Lee, Patricia Ford and her husband Rick, Laura Poorman and her husband Mark, and Nancy Castaneda. He is the devoted grandfather of 13 and great grandpop of 2. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Friday on 12:30 at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, where religious services will begin at 1:45pm. Burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Donations may be made to Christ Boys Home, 800 York Rd., Warminster, PA 18974.
