Richard P. Lanza passed away Thurs., Oct. 18, 2012, his residence with his devoted wife by his side. He was 92. Born and raised in Bristol Borough, he was co-founder and operator of A. Lanza & Sons Family Bakery in Bristol. He was a World War II U.S. Army Staff Sgt. and Air Corps veteran. Mr. Lanza was a faithful parishioner. He enjoyed music, dancing and singing. Known for his kind-hearted personality, he was always good for a joke and had the ability to make anyone smile. He was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather, and loved to spend time with his family; especially trips to the Jersey Shore with Tastykakes and a can of coke on the beach followed by a sausage and peppers sandwich on the boardwalk. He was preceded in death by his parents Alesio and Catherine Lanza; his sisters Katherine Josiban, Mary Fuscullo, and Anna Piraino; and brothers, Joseph Lanza and Paul Lanza. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (nee: Frattone); his children Kathleen Jakubowicz (Stan) of Bath, PA, Renee Farinella of Glassboro, NJ, and Josephine Marafino (Paul) of Philadelphia. He is also survived by 5 adoring grandchildren Stan, Gina, Angela, Daniel, and Lisa; 1 great grandson Liam; 2 sisters Angela Colajezzi and Alice DiBonventura of CA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Adele and Michael DiGuglielmo of Phila., Rosanna Lanza of Bristol, and Lucy Lanza of Burlington, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wed., 7-9pm, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol. Friends may also attend his Mass of Christian burial on Thurs., 10:30am, at St. Ann Church. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. The family requests memorial contributions in his name be made to Odyssey Hospice, 512 Township Line Rd., 2 Valley Square ste. 305, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
