Carmella “Carm” DeMarchis (nee: Romano), age 86, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2012, at Lower Bucks Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born and raised in Bristol Borough, she graduated from St. Ann School in 1942 and was a life-long member of St. Ann Church, which she truly loved being a part of the parish family. She was a member of the Bristol Senior Center where she enjoyed playing Bingo. In her early years, she worked at Leedom’s Carpet Mill where she met the love of her life Chester. She also worked at the slip factory in Bristol for over 20 years as an Inspector, DeLuca Fuel Oil, and lastly till the age of 80, she worked at Harriman Christian Day School as a Teacher’s Aide. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt Carmie, godmother, and special smiling friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed shopping, going to dinner, the Jersey Shore, and visiting friends and family. She especially enjoyed baking and cooking her Italian traditions for the holidays and family dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents Nunzio and Maria Grace Romano; her sister Virginia Mariani (Romeo); her brother Joseph Romano; and her loving and devoted husband of 43 years Chester DeMarchis Sr. Carmella will be greatly missed by her devoted children Chet (Melinda), Richard, and Shirley Brady (Chuck). She is the loving and proud grandmother of Scott, Nunzio, Chet (Cindi), Mark (Tina), Daulton, and Richie; and great grandmother of Nicholas, Zachary, and Tristan. She is also survived by 4 sisters-in-law Mabel Romano, Marge Cullen, Lorraine Paul, and Jill Britland; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her best pet friend Stella. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday, 6:30pm-9pm, and Wednesday, 8:30am-9:30am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol. Mass will follow in St. Ann Church at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Mark Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA 19007.
