Joseph Ewing

Joseph O. Ewing, age 69, of Newtown, passed away Oct. 4, 2012, with his family by his side. Born in Michigan City, Indiana, and raised in Gary, Indiana, Joe lived 15 years in Indianapolis before moving to this area 40 years ago. Joe was a graduate of Indiana Mortuary College. As a licensed funeral director he was employed at Flaner and Buchanon funeral home in Indianapolis where he also worked with their ambulance svc. After a disabling back injury forced him to change careers, Joe worked for Bristol Myers Squibb in Princeton. Later, he was employed at Reliable Miller Casket Co. until his retirement. Joe enjoyed boating on his cabin cruiser and fishing with his wife Janet at their lake house. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Janet, and predeceased by his brother-in-law Bruce Schwartz. Greatly missed by his children Brad Ewing of Royal Center, IN, and Barbara Hrybyk (Chuck) of Osceola, IN; grandchildren Joseph O. Ewing II, Justin Patzschke (Laura), and Branden Patzschke; 2 great grandchildren Abigail and Annalee. Also sisters Mary Thompson (Joe) and Margie Schwartz; and a brother Rob Ewing. Family and friends may call Sun,7-9pm, and Mon, 9am, at Galzerano funeral home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown. Funeral svc. begins 10am in funeral home.
