Frederick Straffe

Frederick J. Straffe, age 72, passed away suddenly on July 31, 2012, in Brigantine, NJ, with his family by his side. Born and raised in Bristol Borough,he met and married the love of his life, his wife Dolores, and together they moved to Levittown to raise their family. He was a retiree of Bensalem School District where he was Principle at Russell C. Struble Elementary School. He was instrumental in bringing Open Education to the Bensalem School District. He was a member of the Bristol Moose, a 4th Degree Knight at Knights of Columbus on Woodbourne Rd., Columbus 500 Club in Bristol, and was a proud member of St. Ann Athletic Association in Bristol Borough. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, sweepstakes contests including winning a trip to Hawaii, and spending time at the shore with his family; especially his granddaughter Julianna. Fred will be remembered as a loving, caring, and generous husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents Patsy and Teresa Straffe; a brother Richard Straffe and his wife Gloria; his son-in-law Ray Grantham; a sister-n-law Gloria Straffe; and an uncle Arthur Straccio. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 48 years Dolores (nee: Bloniarz); his children Dolores “Dee” Grantham, and Freddie Straffe and his wife Judi. He is the proud and doting grandfather of Julianna Grantham; and is also survived by an uncle Pete Ponzo and his wife Annette; an aunt Emma Straccio; nephews Ricky and his wife Mary, and Billy; and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tues., 8:30-10:15am, at Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, followed by his funeral Mass, 11am, at St. Ann Church. Burial will be held in Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests donations to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA 19007.
