Charles Lumio

Charles Lumio Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Phila., he was a resident of Morrisville, PA, for many years before moving to Levittown in 1952 as one of the original homeowners. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served with the 18 infantry of the 1st Division during WWII, and later with the Occupation Forces. After returning home, his first job was with Best Foods in Phila. Eventually, he was employed with Tartan Foods until his retirement 26 years ago. At this point, Charlie became more active in the Teamsters Local 500 Retiree’s Union rising to the position of President, which he proudly held to this day. A selfless and happy person by nature, Charlie was always willing to help anyone. He was a loving, caring, generous, and virtuous man who always put his family first. He was predeceased by his wife Anna (nee: Coia); his brothers Joseph and John; and sisters Margaret Hart, Mary DuRante, and Rose Cappiello. He will be greatly missed by his children Charles Jr. and his wife Nancy Wellington of FL, and Donna Robtison and her husband Larry of Levittown; his grandchildren, that he adored, Chuck Lumio (Renee), Christina Mendola (John), Lonny Robtison (Heather), and Vanessa Robtison; and 5 great grandchildren Mason, John III, Chase, Lucas, and Joseph. He is also survived by his brother Sam and his wife Gloria of Hamilton, NJ; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends; especially Toni. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thurs., 6-9pm, and Fri., 8:30-9:30am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd. Funeral Mass 10am, Friday, at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
