Michel Morrissey

Michel E. Morrissey passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Bristol, PA, and will be greatly missed by her best friend and partner of many years, Neil Mulligan. Michel was an accomplished writer and cook. She loved art, books, The Flower Show, The Outer Banks, and her Shih Tzu’s Winston, Abby, and Freddie. Born in Chester and raised in Woodlyn, Michel later resided in New York City, Boulder, and Philadelphia before settling in Bristol. She attended Ridley Township High School, Villanova University, and The Naropa Institute. Michel was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Isabel (nee: Corcoran) Morrissey, and her sister Ann Marie Morrissey Robinson West. Surviving Michel are her 2 children Joseph P. Vernon Jr. and Megan Laurel Merritt-Willard; her twin sister Patricia Morrissey; her brother Robert Morrissey; her sister Jean Morrissey Smith; and her grandchildren Lucy Vernon, Jack Vernon, and Caleb Willard. Michel was a kind and caring person who made a lasting impression on all who met her. She will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, 10am, at St. Mark Church in Bristol Borough. Interment will be conducted at a later date.
