Mary Rose DeFranco

d. May 24, 2011

Mary Rose DeFranco (nee: Ferraro), age 89, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Bristol Boro and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church. She was a retiree of Keystone Lighting where she was a lead supervisor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend to all who knew her. She was very family-oriented and will be remembered as a wonderful Italian cook who made many specialty dishes. Mary was a member of the Golden Mark’s and was also a member of a “sewing circle that never sewed”; a group of ladies who enjoyed socializing and cooking at each others houses. She loved to take trips with her husband and enjoyed shopping, crocheting, and knitting, but most of all she loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Victoria Ferraro; brother Joseph “Pepe”; and sisters Madeline Embiscuso and Philomena “Fannie” Barbetta. She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 59 years Antonio; her children Antonia Ostrowski and her husband Robert, Gina Hinkle and her companion Jack Agnew, and Donald DeFranco and his wife Patricia. She is the loving grandmother of Steven, Adrienne, Robert and his wife Sue, Kyle, Rebecca, Caroline, and Matthew. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, 8:30-10am, at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 430 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, followed by her funeral Mass, 10:30am, at St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mark Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA 19007.
